CYC Lake Calhoun - Minneapolis - USA - Keel boat Sailing & Racing

Lake Calhoun is the biggest lake in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and part of the city's Chain of Lakes. Surrounded by city park land and circled by bike and walking trails, it is popular for many outdoor activities. The lake has an area of 401 acres (1.62 km2) and a maximum depth of 87 feet (27 m). It is also home for Keelboat Sailing lessons, hosting the Calhoun Yacht Club and the Calhoun Sailing School. The lake is popular for sailing races, canoeing, kayaking and windsurfing.

CYC Keel boat fleet is readying for the 2011 racing season

It is exciting to see the movement at the dock, keel boat captains and crews preparing their boats for the 2011 CYC Lake Calhoun Keelboat racing season.

Sailors still a bit stiff to shake of the past cold winter season moving on the decks still a little awkward to find their sailors legs and embracing the stays for help to stay onboard.

The CYC and Keel boat Fleet Captain Rick Kane invites and welcomes all new boat, captains and crews to take part of this racing season.
